Claire Hinton
Welcome, I’m Claire – founder of Clarus Counselling & Wellbeing.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor and Wellbeing Facilitator, and for many years I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of life’s more difficult seasons. What I’ve come to learn is that real healing rarely comes from quick fixes. It grows in safe, compassionate spaces where you can feel truly seen, heard, and accepted just as you are.
My approach to counselling draws from Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, and Psychodynamic principles, which simply means I work in a flexible way, shaped around you and your unique experiences. I don’t believe in “fixing” people. Instead, therapy is a space to gently explore, make sense of what’s going on for you, and begin moving towards a life that feels more balanced, hopeful, and true to who you are.
Alongside one-to-one counselling, I also offer group sessions, retreats, and wellbeing workshops, including Laughter Yoga and Breathwork. These can be powerful ways to reconnect with yourself, soothe your nervous system, and rediscover moments of lightness, calm, and even joy.
The name Clarus is personal to me. It is the Latin word for Claire, meaning “clear” and “bright.” That’s what I hope my practice can offer you – a little more clarity when things feel foggy, and a little more light during harder times. I wish to offer a place where you can slow down, catch your breath, and find the strength to take your next step forward.
Whatever you are facing, you don’t have to face it alone. At Clarus, you’ll find warmth, professionalism, and a supportive space to talk.
